Lily Allen's new attack
Yahoo! Music, May 22, 2007 5:00 pm PDTLily Allen has called time on her bitter catfight with British pop star Cheryl Tweedy, but only after launching a final verbal attack on her rival.
The pop pair have been trading insults in the British press in recent weeks, dismissing each other's looks, careers, relationships, and futures.
Lily, who earlier this month claimed she was considering having surgery after being labelled "a chick with a d--k" by Tweedy, appears to want an end to the feud.
In the latest instalment of the spat, she said: "I'm just an artist trying to write and sing songs, and get on with my life, and she's attacking me for the way I look!
"Thank you very much for that. All she does is sing songs that aren't hers and do some sexy dance moves, and marry someone rich."
The pop newcomer also laughed off suggestions from Cheryl that she could only dream of playing venues comparable to the ones Girls Aloud are visiting on their current U.K. tour.
"I played twice at Wembley Arena last year and I'm playing Wembley Stadium in a couple of months," responded Lily.
"I'm over here in America where I've sold more than 500,000 albums. I wonder when Girls Aloud last came over here to promote an album? I don't think anyone has even heard of them over here."
Finally, Lily said she wanted to draw a line under the dispute, insisting: "If she comes out and slags me off again I'm not going to retaliate. I haven't got time."
