Lynn, 50, turned himself in at the Humphreys County Jail on Tuesday, hours after a grand jury indicted him on the charges. He was released on $10,000 bond.
The indictment noted that Lynn was convicted of driving under the influence in March 2000.
Larry Thomas Claxton, 52, of Hurricane Mills, died at the scene of the Oct. 4 crash. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Lynn lost control of his 1974 Jaguar and drove off a road near his mother's dude ranch.
Authorities said his blood-alcohol level was 0.13, above the state's legal limit of 0.08.
Humphreys District Attorney Dan Alsobrooks said Lynn will be arraigned next Tuesday.
If convicted of the vehicular homicide charge, Lynn could be sentenced to eight to 30 years and fined up to $25,000.
Claxton's widow, Wanda Claxton, told WTVF-TV of Nashville that she does not want Lynn prosecuted on the homicide charge.
"I don't want this. If somebody wants to charge him with DUI, fine. To charge him with my husband's death is not right," she said.
