The respected veteran female MC recently explained what prompted the joint effort. "Moby called my management and said that he was looking for MC Lyte, and he wanted to do something for the album. And I said, 'Sure.' And they sent the music, and I went into the studio without him there. And I did my rap on it, a couple different ways. Sent it to him. He chose the one that he liked. And then, he said, 'OK. I'm going to send it back to you so that you could check out out.' And when he sent it back to me, Angie Stone was on the hook. So I was like, 'Wow! Talk about a song.' First, it just started out as a track, and then with us putting our vocals on it, it just turned out to be a very well-rounded song."
Lyte is currently working on two albums; an underground street album, Lytro Underground Heat Volume 1, slated to be released on July 4, and a mainstream album tentatively scheduled to hit the streets before the end of the year.
