Michael Still a Single Jacko

E! Online, Sep 27, 2007 11:52 am PDT
Michael Jackson and his kids remain the only ones donning the veils in the family.

The singer's rep issued a firm denial Thursday in response to a sudden flurry of reports stating that the self-proclaimed King of Pop had swapped vows with his children's nanny, Grace Rwaramba, a frequent fixture in the courtroom during his trial on child-molestation charges in 2005.

"Wide spreading reports regarding Michael Jackson being married are not true," publicist and resident rumor-buster Raymone Bain said in a statement to E! News. "Documents stating otherwise are a hoax."

Earlier Thursday, the National Enquirer's Website quoted a source supposedly close to the pair who said, "Grace was happy to go along with it. She's always been devoted to Michael and has raised the kids since the day they were born. Michael knew she'd make a perfect stepmother."

The tabloid also said that it had obtained a real estate document on which Jackson referred to himself as a "married man."

Jackson was married to Lisa Marie Presley from 1994 to 1996. Months after the divorce was finalized he married Deborah Rowe, who gave birth to his two older children, 10-year-old Prince Michael Jackson Jr. and nine-year-old Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, before the couple split in 1999. Rowe forfeited custody in 2001 but tried to have her parental rights reinstated two years later when the molestation case against Jackson started heating up.

The battle over custodial and financial issues continued until last August, when the former spouses declared an abrupt ceasefire. Jackson was ordered to shell out $60,000 to cover Rowe's legal fees but lawyers refused to divulge how much money exchanged hands in the end or exactly what sort of custody arrangement the warring parties arrived at.

Jackson has never revealed the identity of the mother of his five-year-old son, Blanket.

Earlier this summer, Jackson was house-hunting in Maryland for a vacation spot for his brood after opting not to settle down in Las Vegas. Before Jackson's return to the U.S. in January, he had been living abroad, first in Bahrain—where he jetted off to right after being acquitted on all charges in 2005—and then Ireland.
