Showing up to court today in a wheelchair—the result of a stroke suffered six months ago that left him partially paralyzed—the Prodigal Son rapper pleaded not guilty today to felony charges stemming from his arrest last month for threatening his estranged wife.
Dogg, whose real name is Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, faces two felony counts of making criminal threats, one felony count of stalking and one misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI.
Hale also allegedly emailed her death threats.
He was released on $50,000 bond, which Compton Superior Court Commissioner Joel Wallenstein upped to $100,000 this morning. After doing so, the commissioner ordered the bailiff to temporarily place Dogg in a holding area until his camp paid the additional $50,000.
He was released a short while later and ordered not to have contact with or come within 100 yards of his missus.
The hip-hopster's next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 1, at which point a judge will decide whether or not there's enough evidence for the case to go to trial.
