The Prodigal Son rapper was busted this morning in Los Angeles for threatening to deep-six his estranged wife, the California Highway Patrol confirms.
A CHP spokesman tells E! News that police received a 911 call from the Dogg's spouse claiming the 38-year-old emcee (real name: Nathaniel Hale) had threatened to kill her and was chasing her in his car northbound on Interstate 405.
The rapper was taken into custody around 8:30 and booked at the L.A. County Medical Ward of the Twin Towers jail on one count of making terrorist threats and another for driving with a suspended license.
No word what he was being treated for, but once he's given the all-clear by doctors, Dogg will be transferred to the general inmate population in the main facility.
The Grammy-nominated hip-hopster was sentenced to probation in March for attacking an ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend two years ago.
Last December, he suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed on the left side of his body. However, doctors predicted that Dogg would make a full recovery. The MC is best known for his collaborations with such rap artists as Eminem, Ludacris and his cousin, Snoop Dogg.
