Nelly To Launch Apple Bottom Jeans To Raise Funds For Leukemia Charity

Music, Jul 7, 2003 7:00 am PDT(7/7/03, 7 a.m. ET) -- Grammy-award winning rapper Nelly will be launching his Coors Light sponsored U.S. tour on Thursday (July 10) in Dallas, Texas but the rapper is also using his trek around the country to find a model for his new Apple Bottom jeans which are the latest addition to his Vokal clothing line. The jeans are made to fit women of all sizes and shapes.
Old school rapper Doug E. Fresh and Price Is Right hostess Claudia Jordan are scheduled to make appearances at some of the model search events which will follow Nelly's concert performances in New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, Cleveland, Washington, DC, and Denver.
Proceeds from the new jeans will be donated to Jes Us 4 Jackie Foundation. The foundation's goal is to increase number of donors on the National Marrow Donor Program Registry and to specifically find a donor for Jackie Donahue, Nelly's sister who is suffering from leukemia and in dire need of a bone marrow transplant.
The Jes Us 4 Jackie Foundation has held marrow donor registry drives in St. Louis and Los Angeles. The next Jes Us 4 Jackie drive is tentatively scheduled for July 26 in New York City, with dates in New Orleans, Detroit, and Houston to follow.
