Papa Roach Singer Becomes Papa Shaddix

(4/1/02, 3 p.m. ET) -- Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix, formerly named Coby Dick, is the proud father of a baby boy. His wife gave birth to Makaile Cielo Shaddix on March 24. The band weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
Meanwhile, Papa Roach's Jerry Horton recalled being escorted to a festival, which Korn also played, in Caracas, Venezuela in mid-March. Horton wrote on the band's website, "We went to the venue, which was an hour-and-a-half drive in traffic worse than L.A. The crazy part about that was we had a police escort of five guys on dirt bikes, that were swarming around us trying to get the traffic out of the way."
Horton mentioned the band came in and out in a matter of 34 hours because Jacoby didn't want to miss the birth of his baby, "It was fun, it was hell, but if nothing else, it makes a great story," the guitarist summed up.
P-Roach's forthcoming album Lovehatetragedy is set for a June 25 release.
