Video game publisher Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. and Interscope Records on Tuesday set a Dec. 7 release for an eight-CD soundtrack to "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," Take-Two's blockbuster criminal adventure game.

The set features more than 80 tracks drawn from the 1990s West Coast music scene, with a mix of rock, rap, R&B and country.

Among the artists featured are Kool & The Gang, Rick James, Public Enemy, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline , Joe Cocker , Lynyrd Skynyrd, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots.

"San Andreas" sold more than 2 million units in its first five days of release last month. Like previous "Grand Theft Auto" titles, the game features music heavily, primarily through "radio stations" that can be played on cars in the game.

The CD box set is expected to retail for around $50.
