Pink Floyd to reform for Syd Barrett tribute?

Yahoo! Music, Jul 31, 2006 10:00 pm PDT
Pink Floyd are considering a reunion show to honor Syd Barrett, according to claims. The band, which last played together at Live 8 a year ago, may yet reform to play a concert in tribute to their departed founding member.

Speaking recently before the death of Barrett, Nick Mason revealed that relations between the group are now "much better" although he insisted David Gilmour "has no interest in reviving the band."

However, it has now been claimed in the U.K. press that Barrett's passing earlier this month may prompt a change in feeling, as the group seek to remember their friend.

"They didn't want to let Syd go without a huge send-off," a Pink Floyd "source" told Britain's Daily Telegraph.

Syd Barrett died on July 7 at his Cambridge, England home. He was 60.
