To Record Duet With Christina Aguilera

Yahoo! Music, Dec 12, 2000 5:00 pm PST
(12/12/00, 5 p.m. ET) - Ricky Martin is recording a duet with Christina Aguilera, "Nobody Wants To Be Lonely," according to Martin's Sony Music label. The track will be the second single released from Martin's new album, Sound Loaded, and will be produced by Walter Afanasieff. Martin will also record a solo Spanish version of the song, as well as a new mix of the album version of the track to be produced by Desmond Child. A music video featuring the Martin/Aguilera duet is also currently in the works.

Aguilera bowed out of a scheduled online chat and left the following message to her fans: "To all my fans around the world that have signed on for the chat. Please forgive me for not being available this evening. An incredible music and career opportunity has come up for me to record a duet with Ricky Martin. Because our schedules are so crazy this was the only opportunity that we both had to get together. I am very disappointed because I was really looking forward to talking with all of you, however I promise I will make it up to you in the very near future."

Martin is scheduled to perform on NBC's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno tonight (December 12), and at New York radio station Z100's Jingle Ball holiday concert Thursday (December 14).
