Santana Album Due Out June 21
Yahoo! Music, Apr 18, 2005 2:00 pm PDTThe new Santana album will be out at the beginning of the summer. It's called All That I Am, and it's due June 21, according to billboard.com. It will have some high-profile guests on it, just like 1999's Supernatural and 2002's Shaman, but no names have been announced yet. The last official comment about the project came in January, when a post on the official santana.com website said, "The album has some amazing Santana Band songs and some tight collaborations with guest artists that you will surely hear on your favorite radio stations this summer." Among those who have worked with Santana on his last two albums are Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty, Michelle Branch, Eric Clapton, Lauren Hill, and Dave Matthews.
Santana kicks off a North American tour on May 30 in Tampa, Florida.
In related news, Carlos Santana will get the BMI Icon Award for his "unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers" at the 12th Annual BMI Latin Awards, which take place Thursday (April 21) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas.
