Sara Evans has married former Alabama quarterback
AP, Jun 16, 2008 1:00 pm PDTSara Evans has married former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker. The 37-year-old singer filed for divorce from Craig Schelske in October 2006 after 13 years of marriage. The divorce was completed last September.
Lori Genes, the country star's publicist at Sony BMG Nashville, told The Associated Press on Monday the couple had married, but didn't provide details.
People magazine reported on its Web site that the outdoor ceremony took place Saturday on a farm in Franklin, Tenn.
Barker led Alabama to a national championship in 1992. He hosts a radio show in Birmingham.
Barker, who also is divorced, has four children; Evans has three.
Evans made her recording debut in 1997. Her 2000 album, "Born to Fly," went double-platinum. Her hits include "Perfect," "Suds in the Bucket" and "Real Fine Place to Start."
She was a contestant on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," but pulled out when she filed for divorce.
