Norah Jones, Heart, Loretta Lynn join Lilith tour

Reuters, Jan 21, 2010 7:00 pm PST
Norah Jones, Heart, Loretta Lynn, Gossip and Cat Power have just been added to the lineup for the revived Lilith Fair, organizers said Thursday.

They join the likes of Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, Colbie Caillat, Ke$ha, Tegan and Sara, Miranda Lambert, Indigo Girls, Emmylou Harris, Jill Scott, Brandi Carlile and Sara Bareilles.

The touring music festival also added 15 cities -- Edmonton, San Diego, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Hartford, Raleigh, Charlotte, Nashville, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Houston and Austin -- to its originally announced stops in New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto and Chicago. Dates have not yet been announced.

"I'm happy they wanted me on this Lilith tour," Lynn said in a statement. "I have never done shows just with other girl singers before. When I first started out, they said girl singers couldn't sell records or concert tickets. We've come a long way since then and we're gonna have a big time out there!"

Lilith Fair is returning this summer after an 11-year hiatus. During its original run from 1997-1999, the festival drew top names like Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, the Dixie Chicks, Indigo Girls and Sarah McLachlan to its stage.
