According to Billboard.com, Paul is scheduled to appear Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court today (July 30), and the maximum fine he can receive is $20 or community service.
Sean Paul's hit song "Like Glue" is at Number 12 on Billboard's Hot R&B and Hip-Hop Singles chart.
Paul will appear on MTV's Hard Rock Live tonight (July 30) to perform "Like Glue."
Elephant Man, Destiny's Child and Bounty Killer were among the other artists that performed at Reggae Sumfest.
This isn't the first time artists have been accused with profanity offenses after Reggae Sumfest. Last year Ja Rule and Snoop Dogg were charged and summoned, but did not appear in court. In 2001, Beenie Man was brought to court for using profanity during the festival.
