Yahoo! Music, Nov 4, 2002 10:00 am PST
(11/4/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- Shakira's first-ever world tour, the Tour Of The Mongoose 2002, will kick off at the Sports Arena in San Diego on Friday (November 8). The tour--in support of Shakira's first English-language album, Laundry Service--will visit 30 North American cities through February, with a European stopover scheduled for December. While in Europe, Shakira will play London, Cologne, and Barcelona, among other major cities.

Shakira recently described the show for LAUNCH, "It's definitely a rock show. You know, I feel that I'm a rocker trapped in a 'pop' body, and finally this rocker is going to have its opportunity to come out when it's on the stage."

The Colombian superstar's tour will visit some 30 countries and 50 cities during 2002 and 2003.
