Sixpence vocalist Leigh Nash said that she was a little worried at first about doing another cover, after having already done a remake of the La's 1991 pop classic "There She Goes" on the previous album. "I had some reservations, you know, about doing a cover again because we had one on the last record, and whether people would think that was weird," Nash said. "But then, I think in the end it was like, 'Ah, who cares?' We wanted do the song and we did it and we're really happy about the way it came out."
Crowded House songwriter/vocalist Neil Finn was also happy about the way the track turned out. Nash said, "Yeah he really likes it--he's into it, so that made us feel better about it. We were just so glad to hear that he didn't hate it."
"Don't Dream It's Over" is currently at Number 14 on Radio & Records' Adult Contemporary Chart.
