I'd like to thank Meg Ryan, Hugh Jackman, (director) Jim Mangold, (producer) Harvey Weinstein, everyone at Miramax for making a delightful movie and for inspiring me to write a romantic song. I like it very much. I'm glad you do--thanks again. My beautiful wife, Trudie..."
Other nominees for the best original song honor included a who's who of songwriting. "Until" bested David Baerwald's "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge, "May It Be" by Enya and Nicky Ryan from The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring, Diane Warren's love song "There You'll Be" from Pearl Harbor, and Paul McCartney's title song to Cameron Crowe's trippy drama Vanilla Sky.
