Official documents released this week confirm that the former Pink Floyd enigma's financial legacy totals $3 million, which has been distributed within his family.
The news comes despite suggestions that the founding member of the U.K. psychedelic pioneers died penniless, after living for nearly 30 years as a recluse in Cambridge.
Apparently Barrett left his brother Alan 425,000 British pounds, while his other siblings Rosemary Breen, Ruth Browmn and Donald Barrett will receive 275,000 pounds each.
Breen is credited with caring for Syd (real name: Roger) during the final years of his life, as Syd's mental state continued to deteriorate.
She has also been awarded the 310,000-pound proceeds from the sale of his home, plus 119,000 pounds accrued from a recent auction of Barrett's possessions.
Syd Barrett died last year at the age of 60.
