Begins Recording All-Star Album

Yahoo! Music, Apr 3, 2002 10:00 am PST

(4/3/02, 10 a.m. ET) - Ted Nugent entered the studio earlier this week to start work on his next album, tentatively titled Craveman. The artwork for the packaging is said to be done already, and Nugent is expected to complete the project quickly, in time for tourdates that kick off July 3 in Clinton, Iowa. An August release is scheduled for the album on Spitfire Records.

If everything works out, Craveman will be an all-star affair. So far, Kid Rock is the only confirmed participant in the sessions, but Nugent told LAUNCH last year who was on his wish list for the album: "I'm collaborating with some awesome talent: Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, hopefully [Metallica frontman] James Hetfield and I will get together. That maniac from Green Day, he's so good--Billie Joe [Armstrong]! Billie Joe and Uncle Ted! We're going to jam on some black music. And [Aerosmith's] Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. I'm writing a bunch of songs with a bunch of different people, even though I've got so many already. But I'd just like to see what they can bring to it, you know?"
