Ted Nugent Offers To Take *NSYNC Star Hunting In Lieu Of Space Trip

Yahoo! Music, Sep 5, 2002 5:00 pm PDT
(9/5/02, 5 p.m. ET) -- Ted Nugent is trying to make the best of Lance Bass's bad situation. With the *NSYNC star's hopes of traveling to the International Space Station dashed for failure to pay the $20 million fee, Nugent is offering Bass a different kind of expedition, and at a significantly cheaper price.

The singer-guitarist has invited Bass to his Michigan ranch for some basic training in bow hunting. Following that, the duo would go on a week-long hunt "where he'll be taught a greater appreciation for nature and gravity as he hunts, kills, cleans, and cooks for himself...Bass needs to quit worrying about going into outer space and embrace and celebrate life by learning how to kill his own food. A slab of flesh on the back of a deer is the finest source of protein on the planet," Nugent says.

The price for this special mission: one million dollars. However, Nugent adds that he'll throw in a few guitar lessons if that's what it takes to get the deal done.

Currently on tour, Nugent next plays the Robarts Arena in Sarasota, Florida, on Friday (September 6). He's promoting two items--a new cookbook, Kill It & Grill It (Regnery Publishing), which is available now, and a new album, Craveman, due September 24 from Spitfire Records.
