This isn't the first time that Twista was involved in a serious car accident. In September of 2004, the rapper was involved in a fatal van crash which took the life of his bodyguard and friend, Arthur "Butch" Dixon. Just a few months ago, Twista broke down how he dealt with that situation. He said: "That was a whole crazy thing, like, dealing with his death and his moms, and them having to deal with it, and stuff like that. And then just us, the way we was banged up, you know, in the ride. That was a situation where the top of the van got torn off. We was thrown out of the van."
The rapper added that it took him several days to get his memory back after the accident. He said: "I think my next memory was in the limousine asking everybody, 'What's going on and where's Butch at?' They was crying because they were like, 'Man he don't even remember what happened.' It scared me, but it took me two or three days after the accident to figure out exactly who I was as far as, like, my name, my regular name, and figure out I was Twista and everything."
Twista's latest album, The Day After, was recently certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies.
