Trail Blazers' Rasheed Wallace To Debut Record Label

Yahoo! Music, Feb 9, 2000 10:00 am PST
(2/9/00, 10 a.m. ET) - Portland Trail Blazers star Rasheed Wallace will launch his new record company, Urban Life Music, at a party at San Francisco's Club NV on Feb. 13, during NBA All-Star Weekend. At the event, which will be co-hosted by Black Entertainment Television's hip-hop show, Rap City, Wallace will also introduce his debut act, 100 X, a Philadelphia-based hip-hop group.

Wallace, who will perform with the group at the party, will appear on 100X's new single, "PHI," which will be out in the spring.

Wallace says of his musical aspirations, "Since childhood I have dreamed about being involved in the music industry and performing music. There is so much undiscovered talent out here. Through my company, Urban Life Music, I hope to provide positive direction and help develop the talent of those who have dreamed about pursuing music but who have lacked the avenue, resources, and access to make their talents known within the industry."

Wallace will also be making his All-Star Game debut; one of the NBA's top forwards, he was selected as a reserve. All-Star Weekend will be held Feb. 11-13 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
