Tommy Lee Fricasseed

Paging Dr. Feelgood. Get to the Motley Crue concert, stat!

Less than a month after frontman Vince Neil was hospitalized for a torn muscle suffered mid-show, drummer Tommy Lee logged time in the emergency room with burns Wednesday after a pyrotechnic stunt went awry during a concert in Casper, Wyoming.

The headbanger was hanging on a wire swinging back and forth between several drum kits suspended 30 feet above the stage when the mishap occurred toward the end of the show, at approximately 10 p.m.

"There were a whole bunch of sparks flying back and forth, lots of lights on the audience, really bright, so it was hard to see exactly what was going on," Tom Morton, a Casper Star Tribune reporter who attended the gig, told the paper, comparing the embers that struck Lee to those emitted by a grinding wheel.

Apparently Lee wasn't singed too badly--he kept the beat and the band launched into one more song.

"He was on the right hand side of the stage with a drum and a bell," Crue fan Del Kinswoman who was attending the show with her husband, Eddie, an advertising photographer for the newspaper. "The lights went out and Roman candles went off, and someone said "Sh-t, sh-t.'"

After a short break, Neil came onto the stage and informed the audience the Crue wouldn't be able to play an encore because Lee was injured and needed to seek treatment.

"He didn't look good while the paramedics were treating him backstage so we chose to err on the side of caution and send him to the hospital," said Neil of his bandmate in a statement Thursday.

The rocker/reality TV star was taken to nearby Wyoming Medical Center, where he was treated for minor burns on arms and face and released, the band's publicist said.

Lee is expected to make a full recovery and no shows will be canceled.

Three weeks ago, Neil slipped off a stage at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta and suffered a leg injury. Contrary to initial wire reports, which claimed the vocalist broke his leg, Neil partially tore the medial portion of his calf muscle. Again, the aging metalheads were forced to end the show early and Neil was taken to a nearby hospital. But his recovery was quick and he resumed performing a few nights later.

The recently reunited quartet's Carnival of Sins tour has been a big draw on the arena circuit. Motley Crue will play scheduled shows in Bismarck, North Dakota, on Friday and Rapid City, South Dakota, on Saturday.

The Crue will open for the Rolling Stones in Portand and Seattle at the end of the month before heading off to Japan and Australia for additional dates.
