Wallflowers Map January Tour

Yahoo! Music, Dec 5, 2002 5:00 pm PST

(12/05/02, 5 p.m. ET) - The Wallflowers will hit the road in January for more extensive dates in support of their latest album, Red Letter Days. The Los Angeles group has 16 shows scheduled in the Western U.S., beginning January 15 in Boise, Idaho.

Meanwhile, the group wraps up its first round of dates on Saturday (December 7) in Washington D.C. The set list features much of Red Letter Days and several past hits but also covers of David Bowie's "Heroes" and the Nick Lowe-penned Elvis Costello classic, "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, And Understanding."

Despite frontman Jakob Dylan's obvious songwriting lineage, he tells LAUNCH that covers always play an important role in one's career. "You know, a good cover can be anything, we've done countless songs. I think it's important for bands to cover songs. You know, that's how groups used to get good, they used to be cover bands for years before they started writing their own songs. I did that with groups and I think that's how you learn."
