Snoop Dogg, Warren G , & Nate Dogg Working On 213 Debut
Yahoo! Music, Aug 7, 2003 7:00 am PDT(8/7/03, 7 a.m. ET) -- Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and Nate Dogg have each made a name for themselves over the years. What many fans may not know is that the trio is actually a group called 213. Formed in Long Beach, California in the early ‘90s, 213 has been on the backburner since Warren G delivered a tape of their material to his older brother, Dr. Dre, who quickly took Snoop Dogg under his wing and recorded the song "Deep Cover" for the soundtrack of the 1992 movie of the same name.
More than a decade later, the threesome have decided to officially re-unite and release a set under the 213 name. Snoop Dogg told MTV, "We've been in the laboratory doing real good music, so we should have a single for y'all in three weeks maybe a month. It's hot. The West Coast is back, believe it!"
Snoop Dogg continued, "I'm just trying to put together the best record to represent 213, since we never came with a record before, nobody never really heard us as a group. We're really getting each others' back on every record. It makes the job that much easier and more like team ball. I play team ball better anyways."
The untitled set, which is tentatively scheduled for release in November, will include the production of Jelly Roll, Warren G, and the Neptunes.
